Happiness lies in the joy of achievement and the thrill of creative effort.

When I read this quote by Franklin D. Roosevelt I knew it describes what I experience as I create my art. Upon awaking each day there is an excitement knowing there are beautiful things to make. No matter the creative task the child within longs for all the possibilities that can come to pass and the surprises that lie ahead. This summer has been especially joyful for me as I painted whimsical flowers, worked on a few commissions, filling orders for my stores and began designing and cutting out the 2018 Christmas angels and ornaments. The ornament process begins in August so they can be cut outside in the warm weather. Snow can begin as early as September or October here in Helena. As of today the cutting is completed and the snow has not arrived. Fall has begun and brought us warm temperatures. Hopefully it will last through October.
Below are some of the flower paintings I have completed. You can view the paintings by clicking the photo or by clicking the title of the painting below each photo. I have also included below a few photos of how I begin cutting out the angel ornaments.
Thanks for viewing this post and I hope the 2018 fall season surrounds you with both joy and beauty as Mother Nature displays her glory.
