Have you ever wondered what makes your soul thrive?

Have you ever wondered what makes your soul thrive? If I asked you what is your favorite soul food what would you say? As an artist that is easy for me to answer. The visual arts are my soul food and that is no surprise to you my readers. However I also enjoy celebrations that are centered in love and bring people meaning and joy into their lives. I had the opportunity to feast on both recently when I traveled to Houston Texas to witness the marriage of Dru Mims and Kerry Fletcher. The wedding was a source of inspiration to me as I heard the marriage vows being spoken and Dru and Kerry’s commitment to love one another and share that love with those they will meet and interact as a married couple.

After the wedding I had the opportunity to visit The Houston Museum of Fine Arts. Upon entering the museum I was immediately impacted with so much visual stimuli that I realized I had to limit my intake and let a few pieces really sink in. Below are some of the works of art that I particularly enjoyed because of their use of color, shape, line and form. It is good to find ways to nourish one’s soul weather it is through a celebration, artwork, music, a book, dance, friendship, nature, contemplation, worship and a host of other possibilities. It is my hope that you will have occasions this summer to be nourished with some true soul food. If you want to share your soul food then do so in the comment box below I do love to hear from you. Thanks for viewing and enjoy the photos.
