As summer fades transitions are in the air with the coming of September. Living in Helena has made me appreciate summer more than ever as the season seems so short here under the Big Sky. There are still flowers in the garden but the tulips are long gone. The wind and cooler temperatures now fill the air and the days are growing shorter. I am glad I took the time in June to capture these magnificent tulips in paint. They bring delightful memories of summer’s glory. Both of these small tulip paintings are now available for purchase.

Now that September is here I have add many birds to my whimsical bird series. I have new birds hatching every week. I love making these brightly colored creatures. They bring me a certain sense of peace and joy when I am making them. I always smile when they are finished. Each one seems to have a character all it’s own and begs for the viewer to smile. I am finding more and more what a gift a smile can be especially in a world filled with so much conflict. Let me introduce you to my new brood.
