This weeks micro mystery was easily identified by many of my readers. Most of whom recognized the painting from having seen the Broadway play Sunday in the Park with George.

A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte

This grand painting by Georges Seurat measure 6.5 feet x 10 feet and has a host of characters,  3 dogs, 8 boats and 48 people. It took Seurat 2 years to finish the master painting along with the 28 drawings, 28 panels and three larger canvases he made to help him create the final painting. But one of the most striking dimensions of his work is that the painting is entirely made up millions of tiny dots of color that make up the various shapes and elements. Now if you ask me that takes a lot of patience. Georges Seurat is often referred to as the father of Pointillism and of Neo-Impressionism.

I hope you get a chance to see an original Seurat someday. Seeing the tiny dots in any of his paintings is truly a wonder to behold.
