Autumn Cliffs is a practice painting for a larger painting I will be doing. I have been challenging myself to work with sky, water and land. I find it fascinating to see how light inter plays on all three thus creating a myriad of shadows and highlights. If your looking for high drama in life look to the sky and see how light falls upon the earth below.
This piece is has a highly textured background made of a modeling compound and tissue paper. Acrylic paint has been applied to the surface.
