Today Abstract Painting #4 was finished after many layers of acrylic paint. This painting evolved over several days and with many different color combinations. The background was built first with layers and layers of tissue paper an glue allowing a highly textured surface that allows paint to be entrapped into textural crevices. It is sheer artistic fun to watch the different colors interact with one another. The vibrant hues of red, yellow and blue fought for dominance as I applied each layer. I ‘m especially pleased with the fiery red in this piece as it is balanced and kept at bay by the cool subtle tones of the blues and deep purples.
The frame is one of my antique frames I found earlier this fall here in Helena.
This piece measures 19.5 x 15.5 in the frame. I have had several inquires as to weather these are for sale. If you would like to consider purchasing a abstract please contact me.
