Supporting The Helena Symphony

The Helena Symphony is featuring painted violins that will be auctioned off for their 2013 Gyla fundraiser. I was thrilled to be asked to to put my visual interpretation on one of these violins. I choose the music, Clair de Lune, by Claude Debussy as my inspiration. I found a musical score for violin and piano of Clair De Lune and tore it into small pieces which I used to collage the outside of the violin case creating an handsome black and white pattern. Being a romantic at heart I have always been mesmerized by the moon and it’s gentle light that dances across the evening skies. The violin seemed life a perfect form to paint my artistic impressions of the moon’s soft luminosity.

The Helena Symphony offers many concerts through out the year and it is always a wonderful experience listening to this eclectic and well seasoned orchestra. You can check out their up coming concerts here, Helena Symphony
