I love visiting Yellowstone Park. It’s natural beauty sings to my artistic heart. The rich colors of water and earth are colossal on the artistic scale. The largest spring in the park is my favorite, Grand Prismatic Spring. It is Yellowstone’s largest hot measuring 370 feet in diameter and can be seen from the Midway Geyser Basin boardwalk. The deep-blue color of the hottest part of the pool is offset by rings of yellow- and orange-colored bacteria on the cooler fringes, creating a beautiful prism effect.
This original acrylic abstract is my newest and was inspired by the Grand Prismatic Spring. The deep blues of this thermal spring were a challenge and I am happy with the outcome. There is both a sense of depth and clarity.
The painting is on a hand made wood panel box measuring 11″ x 14″ x 1.5
