Summer Sky is my latest abstract painting. It measures 12″x 15″ and is painted in acrylics with a clear non yellowing varnish. I love creating abstracts because each one is a surprise when it is finished. No matter what I think it may turn out like I am always surprised when I finish that it is no where near my initial conception. I enjoy working with color especially colors that are intense and vibrant. Daily I am attracted to the vastness of the sky above me here in Montana. This dramatic canopy is always changing and carries a color palette that no artist can truly match. A “Drama Queen” she is with her towering cumulus clouds of dusty pinks and vibrant oranges set against a deep blue back drop. I’m hoping to create many abstracts with the heavens as my inspiration.
