Did you know that each full moon in every month has a name? January’s full moon is named Wolf Moon. This name was given by the Native Americans as they heard the howling of hungry wolves lamenting the scarcity of winter food. Old Moon and Ice Moon have also been used as names for this austere and pristine night beauty.
The night sky here in Helena has been full of celestial wonder and is easily seen if you can stand watching when the temperature is below zero. I could not help but name my 6th abstract painting Wolf Moon.
