Hello from the art pastures of Helena, MT. For sure it has been awhile since my last post and no, I was not on vacation but that would have been nice. Instead my days have been filled with helping my 90 year old mom move to to a new home. Of course this move meant helping her manage her belongings and thinking through just what essential furniture and family treasures she would need to take with her to her new home. Her move inspired me to radically clean and get rid of all the things that I really don’t need. Although all the cleaning and reorganizing was hard work it was very gratifying and now my mom and I are off to a new year and new possibilities.
In January and February I had 2 wonderful commissions. One for The Mustard Seed School in Hoboken NJ. They ordered 30 paintings for their 2016 financial campaign, Together for Tomorrow. The second commission was from a friend here in Helena who wanted a large painting of a tree for her living room. Both were a delight to create and only inspired me to create more tree paintings especially, large ones.

Once these two commissions were finished I started hand painting the 2016 wooden Easter eggs which are now ready for purchase. After painting almost a hundred of these eggs I have definitely decided large paintings are good, not to mention I am glad I only paint the eggs once a year. There are 11 designs to choose from. I want to draw special attention to The Bunnies, Ben and Alice and Mr. and Mrs Chickadee. I got all giddy painting these as they reminded me of my long ago childhood and made me smile. So if you are planning on purchasing some eggs this year do so soon as they do fly away fast.
